"We do human rights work re Iran. We do human rights work re Cuba. We do human rights work re China and North Korea."

I was incorrect, x(insert number here) isn't either a cute or a nasty troll. He/she/it is a Delusional Online Troll.

... medical evidence of torture, including (1)beatings, (2)electric shock, (3)sleep deprivation, (4)sexual humiliation, (5)sodomy and (6 ... ?)scores of other abuses."

1) Repeated beatings? Bruises from resisting their capture? Beatings by fellow prisoners? (shackling is not performed on the majority of prisoners, nor is it done at all times)

2) Electric shock, if performed correctly, leaves no marks behind unless you are trying to create them.

3,4) What type of evidence could they have found for these? They said so?

5) How did they determine the source of the sodomy? Oh, thats right, there are no homosexuals in Muslim countries (Ahmidinejad told us so), it had to be the guards at Gitmo.

... scores of other abuses. Please enumerate, it is a bit hard to respond to such generalizations.

x3

zoomer,

Contact the Physicians for Human Rights and don't be an ass. Read their report. I'm quoting CNN. And they had psychologists on the team, if you're talking about 'physical marks' not being left by electric shocks etc. David Hicks who was allowed back to Australia? He's a mental wreck after what was done to him. So piss off with your 2-minute analysis.

"Bruises from resisting their capture?"

Oh yeah right!! After more than five years!!

Clodhopper ...

Next thing they'll be claiming that Bush doesn't even hang gay kids. The Great Satan is engaged in a war, not with a country, but with an ideology. I can think of nothing more odious. Terrorists are people, too, after all.

x3

Yeah, and machine-gunning an ideology works REALLY well. As we all know. Or an F-16 maybe. Depending on the weather.

It makes just makes me sick that Europe has, in any way, benefited from the United States military and their murderous tactics, so I can only imagine how Europeans feel about it. My heart goes out.

feelthelove

You are sick people You condone what you do.--squeals megamacksmelly

Okay, then why don't you condemn North Korea or Cuba or Iran or Saudi Arabia?

Is it because they are enlightened?

Oh, and when are you going to share your report on totalitarian governments that aren't leftist?

x3

"It makes just makes me sick that Europe has, in any way, benefited from the United States military and their murderous tactics, so I can only imagine how Europeans feel about it. My heart goes out."

'Course it does. Especially since there hasn't been an attack inside the US since 9/11. But plenty elsewhere, including EUROPE -- several times. Thanks a bunch!!

Those damn Americans strapping on suicide vests left and right! It's because Bush has run the economy into the ground that they have nothing to live for. Christian extremism, but what are you gonna do?

x3

"Okay, then why don't you condemn North Korea or Cuba or Iran or Saudi Arabia?"

How the hell would you know what we do or don't do ELSEWHERE, when we're not on an AMERICAN blog? Of course we condemn their human rights abuses!

Bloody idiot ...

x3

Have a nice day, assholes.

Im.mad.as.HELL!
A team of doctors and psychologists convened by Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) to conduct intensive clinical evaluations of 11 former detainees held in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantánamo Bay has found that these men suffered torture and ill-treatment by U.S. personnel, which resulted in severe pain and long-term disability.

The men were ultimately released from U.S. custody without charge or explanation.

"In a 121-page report, the doctors' group said that it uncovered medical evidence of torture, including beatings, electric shock, sleep deprivation, sexual humiliation, sodomy and scores of other abuses."

Either this is really over the top satire or I am missing something. Which is it x3?

If it isn't satire why did you post it? Your wasting your time and just proving your the MSM's lap dog.

PS If half of what you state happen, how do you know it wasn't the detainees torturing one another? That seems closer to the truth based upon what I know about the Religion of Peace.

zooommer

Contact the Physicians for Human Rights and don't be an ass. I'm quoting CNN.

You brought it up on this site, CNN didn't.

... they had psychologists on the team, ...

Medical evidence, not some purely subjective mumbo jumbo from a shrink.

David Hicks who was allowed back to Australia? He's a mental wreck after what was done to him.

Sounds to me like he was a mental wreck long before he was turned over to U.S. control, after all he joined al-Qaeda of his own free will.

So piss off with your 2-minute analysis.

It took me longer than 2 minutes, thank you very much.

"Bruises from resisting their capture?"

Oh yeah right!! After more than five years!!

The CNN article stated that they had been released some time ago, I don't remember exactly, but it was at least a matter of many months. I think it much more likely that they were injured in some other fashion and are claiming the injuries to be from torture and abuse. Most members of a military force know better than to abuse prisoners. Those that fail to control themselves quickly find themselves on the street or in jail.

I love the way that liberals can't seem to keep up a reasoned discourse without resorting to name calling.

feelthelove

So, what is the name of your NGO that likes to hang out on American blogs or alleges to condemn rights abuses in other countries?

Hm?

Talk about projecting, you bloody idiot asshole.

feelthelove

Europe was under attack by terrorists long before 9-11, thanks to groups like the Red Army Faction, the IRA and other leftard terror groups...not to mention the Baader-Meinhof gang. Kadaffi bombing a disco in Berlin? Then having to ante up for the Lockerbie bombings?

Bugger off.

Hundreds of Detainees Died in U.S. Custody - at Least 25 Murdered

"At yesterday's House Judiciary 'Subcommittee on Civil Rights' hearing on torture, Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Colin Powell, told Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) that over 100 detainees have died in U.S. custody, with up to 27 of these declared homicides."

whoops ...

Gee, he's consistent!

LOL ...

okaydokay

"how do you know it wasn't the detainees torturing one another?"

You'd write just ANY KIND OF SHIT, wouldn't you. Despite what Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff to Colin Powell, has already stated in a House Judiciary Subcommittee.

Go chew on a skunk's tail. Idiots and freaks.

"We do human rights work re Iran. We do human rights work re Cuba. We do human rights work re China and North Korea."

Yes and I work 20 hours a day at the local orphanage.

I also give them 80 % of my annual income.

seamróg

They're not allowed to talk to one another and some shithead here suggests they're TORTURING ONE ANOTHER?

What kind of fucking site is this??

Christ almighty. Weirdos and maniacs and monsters - and all American. And many of them call themselves CHRISTIANS. Fucking hell.

okaydokay

'Sackly, seamrog. Nice place, huh?

Friend of USA

How do we know you really do work on other nations such as Iran and Cuba?

You will not tell us the name of your NGO so as far as I am concerned everything you say is bullshit.

Typical White Idiot

It is utter BS to be sure. Further, it is only 3 maybe 4 of the same idiots changing their nicks to convey that there are many different people commenting. What are they hiding and who really gives two shits about their sniveling anti-whatever rants anyhow? Really, tell them you love summertime and more than likely they'll tell you how much summers suck. Especially those ghastly North American summers. Ewwww!!

"The CNN article stated that they had been released some time ago, I don't remember exactly, but it was at least a matter of many months" (zooommer)

Gee, he's consistent!

If you will notice, in my original comments I was listing possible sources for "multiple beatings" which could have started with injuries received during capture and continued elsewhere.

They're not allowed to talk to one another and some shithead here suggests they're TORTURING ONE ANOTHER?

Not all of the prisoners are segregated or in solitary confinement.

Christ almighty. Weirdos and maniacs and monsters - and all American. And many of them call themselves CHRISTIANS. Fucking hell.

There are some bad apples in any bunch. I am not saying that some of the prisoners have not been abused. We do not approve of abuse as a society, trying to project the blame for acts committed by a few onto an entire society is irrational.

Everytime it has been proved that one of our own was guilty of taking advantage of prisoners, the perpetrators have been punished.

If you cannot wrap your skulls around these concepts then you are a lost cause.
