I'm thinking Burma must have oil to steal. Or maybe they have Saddam's WMDses. Either way, it looks like Bush is going to elbow his way into that country just like he did a certain other African nation that goes by name Iraq.

I thought the Myanmar were the extinct natives of co-America otherwise known as Mehico.

Only if it's the milk of a male yak. Works or me every time.

Maybe Bush plans to flee to Myallomar in disgrace after he's finally thrown out of office in January. Personally, I can think of no sweeter, chocolate-coated treat than to see that man forced to live out the rest of his life exiled to that tiny island nation, every day having to look across the Amazon River at Hugo Chavez and Cindy Sheehan's Venezuelan love nest.

Justa Joe

Somebody (like Soros) needs to commission a survey to find out how many of the locals Bush has already killed.

Bush4Ever

One would think, from the comments here, that Der ChimpenReichsFuhrer, Herr Bu$Hitler, actualy had something to do with the tragedy that struck Myanmar. Didn't you get the memo?
The Goracle said that Gaia's Cursed Global Warming did it!!
But...then again...if the Bu$Hitlerian Regime had signed the Gaia Blessed Kyoto Treaty why then...

9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!!!!

This post isn't about Obama. We all have to try to keep our chocolate-coated dreams on ice, hard as that may be.

Being stranded on a tiny island nation and spending his life recollecting his humiliating defeat and failed empire, however, is a fitting curse for our present-day Napoleon, Dumbya. Napoleon used to be my favorite ice cream before Bush harshed that for me, too.

No way Bush would allow three different colored anything coexist peacefully.

Justa Joe

Has anyone noticed that Comintern sounds a little like "cum intern"?

Fist of Etiquette

Is that a common term?

Che Gaiavera

No way Bush would allow three different colored anything coexist peacefully.

I heard he had green M&Ms banned from Amazon. He hates anything green. Plus he kept choking on them.

Oh, and after binging on them at a frat party, Jenna found herself having to get married.

CHANGE is good

Is it possible that Bush eliminated the 500000 Africans in Myanmar because he didn't want to be 'seen' disenfranchising them to keep them from voting against his mother's secret love child, George W McCain?

Friend of USA

McCain asked Bush in a memo to do something about Obama.

but since Bush is semi- illiterate ( remember the upside down goat story book? ), he thought the memo was talking about Burma.

And now look at the devastation in Burma...

BUSH MISREAD!
PEOPLE ARE DEAD!

Friend of USA

Totally off topic,

in a recent interview Arianna Huffington told John Stossel that she owns - not one - but two - yes two, TWO Toyota Prius!!!
( or is it two Toyota Priuses? )

and a 7 million dollar home... (that burns as much carbon as about 20 houses...)

now back to the topic at hand,

BUSH MISREAD!
PEOPLE ARE DEAD!

Red Square

I recognize the inimitable style of courageous Pravda journalism. Didn't we meet near Lubianka Square in 1991, comrade?

If Myanmarians are poor and Americans are rich, it can only mean one thing: Americans are stealing their money. If Myanmarians are hungry and Americans are fat, Americans must be stealing their food. If 100,000 Myanmarians die and a million become homeless after a cyclone while Americans are enjoying great spring weather at the Botanical Garden, Americans must be stealing their climate. No, wait... Must consult commissar on that last one.

Spam and medicine? Ptui! There's a case for a full-fledge class action suit and reparations that America must pay to the heroic but rarely mentioned minority community of Myanmar.

mianmarian

U.S. "outraged" by Myanmar's response to cyclone?

What about the Bush junta's response to Katrina?!

Pentagon Releases Propaganda Documents -- Will the Media Pay Attention?

By John Stauber, May 7, 2008

With 8,000 pages of documents online for the world to see, will the networks continue their media blackout?

Eight thousand pages of documents related to the Pentagon's illegal propaganda campaign, known as the Pentagon military analyst program, are now online for the world to see, although in a format that makes it impossible to easily search them and therefore difficult to read and dissect. This trove includes the documents pried out of the Pentagon by David Barstow and used as the basis for his stunning investigation that appeared in the New York Times on April 20, 2008.

The Pentagon program, which clearly violated U.S. law against covert government propaganda, embedded more than 75 retired military officers -- most of them with financial ties to war contractors -- into the TV networks as "message surrogates" for the Bush Administration. To date, every major commercial TV network has failed to report this story, covering up their complicity and keeping the existence of this scandal from their audiences.

News of the Pentagon's online posting of the documents came from Joe Trento of the National Security News Service, who notes that NSNS provided the New York Times "limited information about a military office early in the reporting process."

Here is the official Pentagon website with the 8,000 pages of documents, the most interesting and revealing of them previously secret and only available to the Pentagon and the New York Times:

http://www.dod.mil/pubs/foi/milanalysts/

More than two weeks after the New York Times reported on the Penatgon's military analyst program to sell controversial policies such as the invasion of Iraq, the broadcast television news outlets implicated in the program are hoping to tough out the scandal by refusing to report it. Recently Media Matters of America (MMA) reported that, according to a search of the Nexis database, "the three major broadcast networks -- ABC, CBS, and NBC -- have still not mentioned the report at all."

The Pew Excellence in Journalism project has a chart showing that "there was virtually no mainstream media follow up to The Times' expose" with the only national TV coverage being the introduction segment and live debate featuring CMD's John Stauber on the PBS NewsHour.

Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro and three dozen colleagues have sent a letter to the Department of Defense Inspector General calling for an investigation of this "propaganda campaign aimed at deliberately misleading the American public."

----

COULD I point out that there is little point in Jokey or feelthelump or anyone else trying to attack John Stauber (whoever he is.)

The documents are THERE.
Either dispute John Stauber's FACTS - or don't bother posting. :)

Che Gaiavera

The horror!!! The MSM using retired military folks, people who had contacts in the DOD and who actually knew something about the military as military analysts!!! The fact that the Pentagon went along with the program just proves its diabolical nature!!! And then the Pentagon tried to spin the war as something other than a baby-raping, oil-stealing opportunity to flush Korans!!! It's clearly a scandal!!!

This story could be as huge as Annie's shocking expose' that some Americans use pawn shops when they're low on cash, and yet the MSM hasn't picked up on it?!!!11!!

The horror!!! The MSM using retired military folks, most of them with financial ties to war contractors!!! People who could make millions out of repeating the Pentagon's war propaganda!11!!!!

Don't pretend to be naive Che. And sarcasm *really* does nothing for you.

And as I said, the documents are THERE.
Sarcasm-your way out of that.

Che Gaiavera

The horror!!! The MSM using retired military folks, most of them with financial ties to war contractors!!!
...
People who could make millions out of repeating the Pentagon's war propaganda!11!!!!

People who knew not to say things like "I'm embedded with the 101st Ariborn Division ("Jooos From the Sky"), and here's our current position inside Iraq." on national TV!!!11!! Imagine using subject matter experts instead of amateurs!!! Diabolical I tell you!!!one!!

Here's what one of these propagandists had to say for himself.

"I took it with a grain of salt," Francona said. "I wasn't drinking the Kool-Aid. In my meetings, they never told us, 'Here's what we'd like you to say.' I would hear them say, 'We'd like to get this message out.' "

That's a compelling request if you spent 28 years, as Francona did, serving in the military: "That's who I am. To stand up there on nationwide TV and criticize those still in uniform, your brothers-in-arms, can be difficult, especially when you know it might not be well-received.

"But NBC was paying me to be an analyst, not a cheerleader."

This confession should land him in The Hague!!!!!!!11!!

Che Gaiavera

It's OK for a political, anti-war, environmental activist to play journalist, because he's non-partisan. Heaven forbid the Pentagon should try to get its side of the story out to offset such unbiased "smoking guns".

"The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that, ironically, when Stauber was promoting his book on PR, it was delivered to the media with a slick press kit, and a prewritten list of questions for reporters to ask when interviewing the authors."
