Despite the Bush junta's attempts to keep it buried, a recently obtained classified report confirms that Al Qaeda's strength has returned to pre-9/11 levels. Osama Bin Laden is on the loose, the Taliban has retaken control of Afghanistan, and terrorists are poised to strike the West.
In other words, things are pretty much the way Bill Clinton left them.
It's understandable then why Repugs wouldn't want this infiormation to come to light: it contradicts everything they've been saying since they stole their way into power. All their yammering about duct tape and visqueen and weapons of mass destruction was simply a ploy to control us with fear. Thank Goddess their lies have finally been exposed. We can all sleep soundly tonight knowing that in spite of Bush's best efforts, the so-called "terrorist threat" warrants about as much attention today that President Clinton gave it when he was in charge.

Wait, I'm confused. As a devoted liberal, I need to know if I'm supposed to be angry that Bush has failed to properly protect us from terrorists, or happy that America-haters besides myself have regained their strength and have vowed to kill more selfish, capitalistic Americans. Can someone clear this up for me, please? I don't want to have to get used to using big words like "ambivalent."

HA! I just knew all those so-called "intelligence" reports about the threat of "terrorism" that Bush had been using as justification for pruriently listening in on my private phone conversations was just fearmongering to get his way. That's why I fought tooth and nail to stop him from his draconian methods of stealing my freedoms away.
This report, however, shows me that Bush has not done nearly enough to protect our children from the threat that he created by going into Iraq on lies. While he goes about riding his bicycle and giving his felon cronies unprecedented pardons and defying a Congress that is focusing all its attention on White House investigations and generally turning a blind eye to national security, al qaeda has been emboldened by who-knows-what.
As Americans, each of us needs to stay better infiormed about which threat assessments to take seriously and which will just be used to further political ambitions.

SemenLickLeo is right. If it weren't for Bush's war on terror we could've had at least as many attacks as we did during Clinton's time, including the attacks of 9/11 that were caused by Clinton.
Do the math, sheeple. 3600 trained military casulties or at least double that number of civilian casulties. As much as we liberals despise the military and everything it stands for (but we support the troops), we'll take the 7000 or so civilian casulties because we could've easily blamed Bush for that. The Main Scream Media, our precious friends in Europe, Iran and North Korea would love us again, and we could even appoint Sandy Berger to investigate Bush's illegal and immoral inaction.

President Clinton (the first one) hammered al qaeda for eight solid years, really putting it to them hard, pounding them good, sticking it to them, stopping only long enough to catch his breath (and maybe slapping them across the face with it a few times) before getting back to it.
Bush had eight months to prevent OBL from attacking the United States. It would have been easy, all he would have had to do was continue the comprehensive Clinton plan that had been working solidly up until then, but he couldn't even do that (so giddy still from successfully stealing the White House, no doubt).

If Bush would've married a ball-busting, serial-lying transvestite, I'm sure he would've focused more on the important things.
