I'd like to introduce a new feature to BlameBush!, Liberal Larry's Blog of the Week. From time to time, perhaps even once a week, I will highlight a fellow blogger whom I feel personifies the progressive spirit. It will be my way of sharing my enormous fame and success with the little guy, while giving me an excuse to post something without having to actually write anything.
Mike Webb is a maverick Seattle-area radio icon who isn't afraid to tell it like it is. Unlike right-wing radio hate mongers, Mike is a monger of truth, a lone wolf in a sea of conformist sheep. A no-nonsense, freethinking, whistle-blowing rebel, Mike is the only radio host who has the guts to stand up against the Bush junta. With eyes wide open and bong held high, he pulls back the curtain to expose the cold, hard reality of a fascist America built upon a foundation of imperialist lies.
Like the man himself, Mike's weblog is subtle and mindblowing at once, flying low under the radar yet capturing the spirit of Progressive America like no one else can. As you read his articles, you'll almost fail to realize that you've stepped upon pure liberal genius until you've put your foot right into it, and then you'll spend the rest of the day trying to wipe it off your shoe.
Behold:
Hopefully, absent the phony jingoism and insensitivity to the rest of the world that sadly made the US famous, we can finally take an honest look at what happened on 9/11/01. While some people, radio and TV and news reporters are still shredding their crockodile [sic] tears - for people they could give a damn about on September 10th. The same people who never shed a tear for the men, women and children who continue to die at the directives of our military, bombing them into decimation - maybe, just maybe we can see the truth of 9/11/01. While still recognizing the horror of that tragic day, my sincere hope is for those of us who actually think beyond emotion can see that this country was as responsible for bringing the World Trade Center down as any rogue terrorist group.
Sneering at the military comes easily to us progressives, but it takes real courage to blame America for 9/11 - especially when most people still naively insist that terrorists were solely responsible. Sure, Al Qaeda may have flew commercial aircraft into our buildings (on Bush's orders), but it was U.S. imperialism that built the planes. It was our Zionist policies that plotted the course. And it was 600 years of white male hegemony that stormed the cockpits and slit the throats of the flight crew. Like a rape victim who asked for it, America got what was coming to her.
Thankfully, bloggers like Mike Webb are here to remind us that the emperor not only has no clothes, but he's butt-naked and running down the freeway. Through the repeatedly use of thought-provoking words like "jingoism" and "hegemony", Mike and his way-cool Che Guevara t-shirt wage a neverending battle to wake the ignorant masses up from their pods and disconnect them from the Machine, so they can get hip to the scene and hate America as much as he does.
Let's put the blame for 9/11 squarely where it belongs: on the corporations!
Who made those instruments of terror known as "airliners" that were allowed to fall into the hands of the so-called "terrorists?" Boeing. The same Boeing that, as part of the military-industrial-complex, supplied deadly missiles and other weapons to none other than Saddam Hussein, but we are supposed to forget that.
And what was the target of the freedom fighters who so bravely sacrificed themselves for their cause? THe twin symbols of corporate greed and rampant Amerikkkanism in the world. Notice they didn't attack the Capital building or the White House. No, they went after the two prongs of the military-industrial-complex: the towers, being the center of globalism industry, and the pentagon, being the center of the military, which as we all know is just a wholely owned subsidiary of the partnership of Boeing and Lockheed. So fitting it is that their own planes were used against them! Too bad the fourth plane didn't hit its final target: the New York Stock Exchange. Too bad, that is, because it still crashed, causing irrepairable damage to our Earth Ecosphere. We may never know how severely the impact has impacted global warming. At least if they had succeeded in taking out the NYSE, it wouldn't have been for nothing.

I especially like how his "Remembering 9/11" includes a panel discussion of the Abu Ghraib abuses. So relevant.

It takes real courage to blame Osama bin Laden for the terrorist atacks, when the real terrorists clearly died inside the plane. Has Osama even killed a single American in the last 10 years? No? Not even one? You sure????
He only thought bad thoughts at America, you say? He hates airplanes?
After the airplanes became overrun with the TSA thugs, is there a single person that doesn't hate airplanes? Osama is obviosuly an American patriot in his hate of the nazi TSA organization which makes the jobs of goivernment bureaucrats safe.
Anyway, clearly there were democrats on the 911 planes. With what we know about democrats, its a sure bet one of them was helping the hijackers by saying "Hold on guys lets just listen to them!". Lets put the blame where the blame belongs. One of those dead hijackers was almost guaranteed to be voting for Kerry.

Genius. Pure genius.

Mike Webb? I loved him in "Dragnet."
Posted by: Cheney W. Halliburton | September 15, 2004 at 07:59 PM
Cheney W. Halliburton - that was "Jack Webb" in 'Dragnet'. That fact that you are so young that you don't know Jack suggests to me that YOU forged the memos. It's youngsters like you who can't tell a Selectric typewriter ball from Teddy's puffy alcoholic nose who are most likely not to know the difference between Courier and NTR, and not to know that Microsod Wurd has ALWAYS been there for us to use and enjoy.
And if we're going to think like true Progressives, let's not forget that those Twin Towers were two giant middle fingers thrust into the air, challenging and insulting those fine folks in the Middle East and Europe who only wanted the best for us.

I didn't notice the "Amish" conspiracy theory on his site, what's up with that? You know the one; they've been planning 9/11 for a long time and since they do not use modern technology they knew that none of their own would be killed nor would they be suspected. Mike missed the boat on that one.

Webb: "You ever had a run-in with a creditor? Well, let me tell you about my day with the morons at Seattle City Light and see if you haven't been screwed over by one of our local utilities...." A true progressive doesn't pay his bills; he leaves it to the all-giving State to take care of them. Way to go, Mike!

If only I could write prose as solid as Webb's.

I love the responses from dimwits like Vishnu Troll Daddy Earth Goddess who don't know this site is a joke on THEM. The irony meter hits 11 and all I can do is smile like a man holding in a fart and shake my head.
Larry's site needs better exposure. It should be read by every center-right blog reader on a daily basis. I haven't laughed this hard in years.

Maybe we should send Rodney King and CNN to negotiate peace with the terrorists. I am sure his words edited by CNN then given to Arabic interpreters would become:
Can't we all - die pork eater.
That would be cool, because that is exactly the message I want to give to all in the world who would kill civilians.
Rodney King's words as filtered through CNN to the terrorists would send a clear signal that we do not negotiate with terrorsts - and they should think twice about even attempting a pursuit of negotiations with us.
Good 'ol Kim Jong Il has kept us at bay for over a decade by giving us the "crazy eye" (see Little Nicky, starring Adam Sandler).
I like this method.
We should let the world know that our Canadian medication prescribed by our New Dehli physicians may not be the right dose and we are feeling "funny" about squirrels not being trustworthy.
Bring statements like that to the negotiating table and we will always win... except with the Chinese. Their counter statement would be like "Young grasshopper - Do not accuse the squirrel because when his nuts are to blame."
Cool website!

Jack Webb? I thought he was the guy who dropped out of the Illinois Senate race.

Mike Webb craps with his mouth and speaks out his ass...that is , when he's not busy taking it up his ass. Ever wonder why you can never find a picture of this socialist pussbag anywhere on the internet?
Posted by: darkman | September 16, 2004 at 12:36 PM
Joke my ass! Liberal Larry is one of the few voices not afraid to speak out in dissent when the Bu$Hitler-Asscroft junta is ready to ship anyone not in lockstep off to Gitmo to rot away in prison for life while awaiting the fabled military tribunal. And that is why I read and support Liberal Larry's blog.

Mike Webb is a genius and we all know it. I particularly liked "By the time I get to Phoenix"

Did someone mention in the comments that they saw Jack Webb in drag???
Posted by: CavalierX | September 16, 2004 at 02:07 PM
Cheney, you're thinking of Ryan Webb.
Re: Emerson, everybody shun him. He's only spewing his vile hate speech because that's how Repugs attract their mates.
Posted by: Starbux Sux | September 16, 2004 at 02:13 PM
Oh my god. I came back to read more comments since I'm bored at work and "Starbux Sux" says to shun me? Jesus! I want this person to like me. How can I make that happen in my lifetime?
How can you read blamebush and not get that the joke's on the far left? The mind boggles.

Belligerent rich kids shouldn't be allowed to vote, no matter who they back for president. If Starbucks sucks, don't buy coffee from them. And also stop glancing at yourself in the mirror as you scream for people to pay attention to you.

Liberal Larry must be turning over in his grave. Oh, he's still alive? Good for him!

Emerson, some of the commentors also indulge in sarcastic liberalism. It's you that isn't getting the joke with exagerated silly posts that mock the left as much as Liberal Larry does. In the case of Vishnu Troll Daddy Earth Goddess doesn't the name tip you off?
Posted by: Amber | September 19, 2004 at 07:23 PM
What? How could you even question that Liberal Larry is a true crusader of the true cause, a shining light in the firmament of KKKorporations and neo-cons, I mean Nazis????
