Petraeus Betrayed Us, Alright
For the past two days, we've heard from an expert on the quagmire in Iraq with intimate knowledge of every military battle, every classified mission, every pair of boots on the field of battle, and with a clear and firm plan for what needs to be done to insure the safety of our troops and a satisfactory conclusion to the war.
Then after Barbara Boxer was through talking, they wheeled out this Petraeus jerk.
That Petraeus would betray us by deviating from the script graciously provided him by MoveOn.org was expected. But for him to blatantly contradict the conclusions of congressional Democrats who have watched this illegal and immoral war unfold on CNN and read about it every day in the New York Times is beyond the pale. Petraeus is obviously no Winter Soldier to be admired and revered by Hollywood celebrities whose opinions we rely on. A man in uniform who testifies before Congress as if he is actually proud to wear the uniform simply cannot be trusted to tell the truth.
The problem with putting these military types in charge of our military is twofold. Number one, they take orders from the Commander-in-Thief. Number two, they are too obsessed with achieving victory and protecting the lives of the men under them to consider other options - options that may be less than appealing to your typical military commander but politically beneficial to Democrat leaders nonetheless. And when you help Democrat leaders, you help us all.
The time has come for a change. It's time to stop letting neocon generals run the military, and give liberals a chance to call the shots. Put Babs Boxer in charge of our armed forces and I guarantee this illegal and immoral war will be over in five minutes, and all our war criminals will come home to proudly serve their country in a manner that the Founding Fathers intended: guarding abortion clinics in Berkeley.

I don't know if any of you realize this, but guys like Petraeus and his ilk have sworn what I am sure is a secret oath to follow the orders of George Bush.
One can only assume that President Bush cavalierly fed the good general each and every word that came out of his mouth, playing an oil-hungry Cyrano to Petraeus's Christian, attempting to woo Harry Reid (Roxane) into allowing the killing of more Iraqi civilians.
Thank Mother Earth that the good persons at moveon.org had the intelligence and savvy to recognize that Petraeus rhymes with "betray us".

The sad thing is this .... the inmates are truly in charge of the asylum on the Far Left. There was a time when I used to be what they called a 'proud Democrat' .... I grew up in a Democrat / labor union household in Ohio ...
Then .. I became an adult.
I realized we actually have enemies out there who would destroy us. I watched as the McGovernites took over the Party .. and even now, there are some fringe elements out there (MoveOn.ORG, etc) who actually make the McGovernites look almost SANE.
I realized that you can't tax a nation into prosperity. Show me a poor man who ever gave you a job.
I realized my Party I grew up admiring was more interested in power than principle.
I realized my Party was intent on scoring political points by alienating the very guardians of our freedoms and our greatness as a country - the Armed Forces, the faith-and-family conservatives, even the middle of the road types, all to satisfy the shrieking Left.
So, I made an intelligent choice. I voted Republican. That was over 20 years ago. And I've never looked back since. And, Hell will freeze before I EVER vote for a Party again who has leaders like Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and so forth.
Us Conservatives are building a quiet, righteous anger. And we will - WE WILL - prevail - once we get to the point where we refuse to sit quietly any more and allow the Left to run roughshod over this country.
Then, the Dems will go back to being out of power, where they truly belong.
Remember, we have all the money, all the guns, and we have Fox News.

Petraeus Betrayed Us, Alright
That all depends on what you mean by "us"...
Posted by: camojack | September 12, 2007 at 09:39 PM
By 'US' I would assume they mean MOVEON.ORG .. Noam Chomsky ... Bin Laden .. Hillary .. Obama ...
Shame this isn't back in the days of WW II. We handled treasonous conduct like theirs back then. And we did it properly.

I say put Progressive Pelosi in the Chairwomens seat at the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
I hear she can rapid fire blink most of our adversaries to submission without having to resort to drudgery of war.
Just think since 1987, Nancy Pelosi has been faithfully representing the 8th district in San Francisco. It’s about the only place one can get free hypodermic needles from the government.
That’s the type of over-achiever we need at the controls of the military.

I want France to dictate the terms of the surrender: Do we bend over and grab our ankles or kneel? And I want all the gears on our tanks to go in reverse and we need safer guns and bullets. The military has no clue how to fight a war.

While we had BetrayUs in the US, we should have had him arrested for his part in the 9/11 bombing of The Little Eichmann Towers!!!

This is such bullshit. We need our military in Okinawa YESTERDAY to fight terrorists there. Bush has completely screwed the pooch on this one and sent out his bagman. I'm not buying it.

Not only is BetrayUs a simple mouthpiece for Bush's illegal war in Iraq, he's also Dutch. There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.
.
David Petraeus was born in 1952 to Dutch American parents. His father, Sixtus, was a sea captain who had emigrated to the United States from the Netherlands.

Can anyone tell me why Michael Moore, Oliver Stone and Sean Penn are not in charge of our troops!? It's ridiculous that a man like Betray US is in command.

Easy answer, Arbiter.
The first would eat the second and the third would smoke them both.

Kerry has betrayed all progressives everywhere by shaking his finger at Congress and the Senate...by telling them they can't cast aspersions on a well respected general.
Pardon me, but the day Kerry rises to the defense of the military is the day we know Santa Clause is real.

Exorcist,
Once again, your logic has defeated me.
OT: I'm starting a "Recall and Replace" petition, so I need to help impeaching neo-cons and replacing them with real Americans.
For example:
George Bush- out! Boy George- in!
Dick Cheney- out! Evil Dick from Big Brother- in!

"The first would eat the second and the third would smoke them both."
God, I miss you guys!

Another classic! Larry is like a daily digest of dailykaus and the DU rolled into one. He is truly one of the great communicators of the left. In fact, he is the face of the Democratic party today. Thanks for helping us left wingers know what to think on important matters facing AmeriKKKa today. I shudder to think where we would be without you. I'll bet the DNC secretly reads your blog for direction. It sure sounds like it, anyway.

Cricket wroute - "Kerry has betrayed all progressives everywhere by shaking his finger at Congress and the Senate...by telling them they can't cast aspersions on a well respected general."
I think he meant that they can't cast aspersions on a well respected general until after he has done so. He doesn't like others stealing the limelight.

Dangerous Dave - thanks!! I had almost forgot about the brilliant proposal to re-deploy our troops to Okinawa! Just another Bu$h failure.

General BetrayUS. Where to start?
When I was a child, I used to masturbate with a wet squishy sponge on acid while staring at my sister's barbie dolls. That actually has nothing to do with the discussion, I just thought you might find it interesting, as a progressYYYYYYYYYYve.
The BusHitler secret but highly publicized society of nazi relatives in the whitehouse has changed a bit lately. Rove has resigned to work full time on his weather machines to kill black and other democrat voters. Dick Cheney has finally learned how to shoot, in order to aid in the process of killing innocent children in Iraq. General BetrayUS lies to us and without even a progressYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYve agenda to justify it. Before, he was content with simply murdering billions of iraqi children to extract the oil from their bodies, but now he's LYING TO US!! He has betrayed us. I'm not exactly sure what he did to betray us, but I'm sure he did. Then he lied about it (whatever it was). Furthermore, I have no idea where I'm going with this, or even if I had a point to begin with. One thing I am sure of is that anything resembling anything that challenges the way we ProgressYYYYYYYYYYYYYYves groupthink must be dealt with decisively, emotionally and knee-jerkedly. Oops, dropped the sponge. I'm feeling vaguely.........piratey.......nothing a bit of substance abuse can't cure.........or nurture..........

OH MY GAIA! THEY'RE FRAMING THE JUICE AGAIN!!!
.
LAS VEGAS (AP) - Investigators questioned O.J. Simpson and named him a suspect Friday in a break-in at a casino hotel room involving sports memorabilia.
The break-in was reported at the Palace Station casino late Thursday night, police spokesman Jose Montoya said. He said investigators determined the break-in involved sports collectibles.
"When they talked to him, Simpson made the comment that he believed the memorabilia was his," Montoya said. "We're getting conflicting stories from the two sides."
Simpson was released after he and several associates were questioned, but he is considered a suspect in the case, Montoya said. He is believed to be in Las Vegas.
"We don't believe he's going anywhere," he said.
