YEP, it's Official: conservatives are dumb.
A recent study at my ol' alma mater, UC Berkeley, concluded that the basic elements of conservative thinking are fear, agression, hatred, ignorance, racism, and cognitive uncertainty. It other words, conservatives are neanderthals.
Berkeley actually tested 100 conservative volunteers, asking them simple questions like "If your daughter was a lesbian, would you pay for her abortion?" and "How many poor, black children will have to die before you'll support a tax hike?" Most conservatives tested couldn't answer the questions, or simply refused to do so. Three out of every 10 subjects threatened the researchers with violence.
But of course, none of this is news to us; we've heard Geedumbya talk. The man can't even pronounce "nuclear", for goddess' sake. How are we supposed to get affordable health care for seniors when the pee-resident can't even string a few words together? Working families have to eat dog food so they can afford their sex change operations, and all he can think of is "Me smash Iraq. Me pound evil doers! RArrrgh!"
It's time we got someone in the White House with the intellectual firepower of a Dick Gephardt or a Walter Mondale. Maybe Jocelyn Elders could be persudaded to run.

I was reading through your post and you seem to be hitting on alot of the big divisional points between the liberal point of view and the conservative one. Of course there are thousands of individual views in the spectrum but to just keep a super-simplified view of things I see: homosexuality, abortion, race, and the role of govornment in the economy. Honestly, the adjectives describing conservatives in the first lines are white noise on a liberal site (which is alright) but the argument would be that all humans are in fact driven by fear, agression, hatred, ignorance, racism, and cognitive uncertainty. But what really made me do a double-take was the two questions in the next line. First, are they verbatim from the test given at UCB? If they were, they are really not helping the liberal cause. I'm a mid 20's guy with mostly liberal friends but from what conservative friends I do have I know exactly how they would answer this. My christian friend would say that it's a sin to be homosexual and that it's wrong to "kill babies". I know that those are opinions, but they align with her moral code and are thus valid. So no, she would not pay for her daughter's abortion - she might help her daughter raise the child and try to influence her to see that (what she believes) homosexuality is a sin. She would say to the second question - first off, that raising taxes only pours water into a bag with holes. Govornment spending is SOO corrupt and in-efficient (a point neither conservatives nor liberals want to address and both augment the problem continually) - I'm sure you see the same problems ( they are kind of obvious). The govornment is the worst middle man on earth b/c like a company with a pure monopoly there's no insentive to be efficient with our money or to do a good job with the loads they do spend. I guess that's more of me answering the question - again I think the points are level-headed and not right wing bull. But she would totally want to help the starving black child - she supports non-profit organizations like ONE and that make poverty history (the mccartney supported thing). Anyways, I not attacking your point - I just wanted to give feedback on what I thought was kind of silly and unfair. There are much better ways to promote the liberal cause! And when you guys take back the presidency in '08 you will have the shot (with the senate and house) to make it all right - or set us on that track. DO IT - seriously! The US (the world) needs level-headed foreward looking people in power (not conservatives - or liberals - who whine and piss about who's fault all this is). The best way to beat the other side over the head if you must is to show them you run a better govornment. Have a good one, man. Peace.

Truth, facts and common sense are like kryptonite to liberals. Trying to explain anything to them is alot like trying to tell a small child there's no Santa Claus. You simply get a blank stare and then the liberal parrot sqwaks "You're lying", rawk. Then the snide, hateful little people get angry when they realize they're wrong and spout verbally abusive nonsense....the liberal way.

Careful you don't step into that flaming pile of Limbaugh, rawk.

Just for today I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, that "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Agreed. Some folks use push/pull, and some of this comes from the "permission markeitng" concept from Seth Godin from about a decade ago. I also agree with you that social media and the ability to have a conversation (like this one) change the game. So maybe we need a new term?
You have some good points, and the best one might be that I prefer to debate less and do more marketing! If you are ever in Boston, look me up and I'll give you a tour of the HubSpot offices and buy you a coffee.

Why would your lesbian daughter need an abortion? That doesn't really make sense.
